Schedule(s) Starting Saturday, March 27th, 2010

I'm still watching from the sidelines, and although Physical Therapy starts next week, I don't have any delusions that this will be a quick recovery. I might be walking in April, eliptical training and then running starts after that. However, motivation and momentum is not stopping!

Lesa sent a link for a race in the previous post - so July 4th sounds like a great date to do a 10K (I'm in for the walking portion of it!) Lesa is also continuing to run/work out at the Y starting around 6/6:30 a.m. on Saturday mornings until the biking outside starts up at 7 a.m. (from FHS track).

Caryn just signed up for the Sudbury Spring Sprint Tiathlon and would like to know if anyone wants to join her on Mother's Day, May 9th http://trifind.com/re_12611/SudburySpringSprintTriathlon.html

Group Schedule:

Saturday, March 27th, 6/6:30 a.m. run and/or fitness workout at the Frankling YMCA

Wednesday, March 31, 8 p.m. swimming at the YMCA pool

You Will Feel STRONG!

imagine running out of the water feeling this strong.... knowing you did all you could do to train! look at the picture again and visualize that is you.
i'm still in training... of course... training to walk...but i'll get there.
Same schedule this week - Wednesday, March 17th at Franklin Y pool (8 p.m.) (I heard laura, lynn, lesa and caryn were there... great going guys!) and Saturday, March 20th at Franklin Y fitness center or spin class @ 7 a.m.
email or post comment below on your activities. remember, this blog is to keep us all motivated over a long period of time... even when we want to quit. i'm not quitting and you're not either. the easiest way to stick with it is to always know your next training time and session, and pack your bag now and let someone else in your family know your next workout time. don't mean to get all "preachy" but our obstacles are not physical; they are mental. thinking we can't commit to this long term goal; thinking we don't deserve to take the time to train for ourselves; fearing we won't be fast enough, etc. take the first step and the momentum of the group will take over from there!

Donna Didn't Hold Back

You know how you go out and exercise around your family's schedule, do extra now so you can swim later on........always thinking of others and your next time commitment? Well, on Wednesday, I took a day for myself as I was invited to Waterville to ski. The day was full of promise: adventure.....good skiing.....getting to know a new friend over hot chocolate..........no time commitments. Well, I channeled my inner Lindsey Vonn a little too much, got going too fast, tried to slow down and directed my skis into the mountain - cutting uphill. They responded by going left on my command, but my body went right. That's a problem. Hence, I found myself getting a ride in the toboggan that I had feared for my 45 years of skiing. Interestingly, I suffered no pain (although I broke a wrist and tore a knee ligament) and was able to enjoy the view of the sky from the toboggan. I'm learning to live in the moment, but will not get all Eckert Tolle on you....Instead, I wanted to share some "before and after" pix with you as Patty and I still had our adventure - we still had 4 good runs of skiing, and STILL got to know each other over tea!
And for me, that's what our triathlon adventure is - the JOURNEY we share together in crossing the finish line. So, I still will be blogging and cheering all of us on....and participating as I'm able, but may need your help a little. (Can you send me pix of group workouts? ..even individual workouts.....they really work in inspiring someone else!)
So, keep up what you've been doing and plan on meeting as a group on:
Wednesday, March 10, 2010 - 8 p.m. lap swim in Franklin Y or 7:30 p.m. Masters swim in North Attleboro Y
Saturday, March 13, 2010 7 a.m. spin class in Franklin Y or 7 a.m. treadmill at Y
